George Young is a business development and management professional with over 25 years of experience in both B2B and B2C environments. His career has been focused on helping grow small- and medium-sized, private businesses, fueled by a generalist approach that has allowed him to serve in a variety of roles ranging from Sales and Marketing Director and Channel Sales Rep to Business Unit Manager and Corporate Infrastructure Director. George earned a B.S. in management and a minor in atmospheric sciences from UNC Asheville, where he played four years of Division 1 baseball on a partial scholarship. George is the Founder and lead forecaster for a private weather forecasting service called DC MD VA Weather, which he created following the Super Derecho of 6/29/2012 that destroyed his home in Annapolis, MD and motivated him to find a way to resurrect his childhood dream of weather forecasting.
At Monarch, George will focus on weather needs for Insurance, Supply-Side Businesses, and Sports and Entertainment.
Traci Dority-Shanklin is an investment fund strategist, specializing in bringing innovative concepts and products to institutional investment managers and benefit funds. Her career spans three decades, beginning with a Washington, D.C., political affairs and public relations firm working with labor unions, to most recently serving as Managing Director with national and global investment firms. She specializes in identifying enhanced products and services that positively impact the changing environment faced by the institutional benefit plan marketplace and their underlying participants by focusing on educating key decision-makers on relevant products and services. In her prior sales and client service roles with investment management firms, she contributed significantly to the growth of those firms, receiving several sales awards.
At Monarch, Traci will assist Investment and Pension Fund Planners with weather and climate risk mitigation.
Ken Mahan is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive on-air broadcasting & weather producing experience for regions in Alaska, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts. He also forecasts and produces nationally for NBC and Today Show. Ken shares a passion for startups and has over 10 years of experience working with technology companies in a "go-to-market" setting, focusing on building relationships and delivering solutions that solve practical problems that people experience every day. He has worked with new-age telecom company Starry Internet and disruptive apartment rental marketplace, Spot Easy.
At Monarch, Ken will help provide weather solutions for Tech, Construction and Viticulture.
